About Faculty Academy

For the past 16 years, the University of Mary Washington’s Faculty Academy has brought together faculty and staff from both campuses at the University to share and celebrate the year’s efforts and accomplishments in the classroom, with teaching and learning technologies as the specific focus (or, one might say, catalyst) of the event.

Every year, UMW faculty are joined by a noted keynote speaker as well as several distinguished workshop leaders and guest presenters. These visitors help to frame and further the conversation about the future of academic technologies. In addition, visiting attendees from other universities, colleges, libraries, and K-12 systems lend their voices to the discussion.

UMW’s division of Teaching and Learning Technologies hosts the event, with generous sponsorship from other University units. The event is free and open to all UMW community members as well as to participants from other schools and institutions.

We welcome anyone who has an interest in teaching, learning, and technology to join us at this year’s Faculty Academy on May 11 & 12 at the Stafford Campus of the University of Mary Washington.
